Fatima Al Dhaheri

Eng. Fatima Al Dhaheri received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from UAE University, Al Ain, UAE, in 1993 (where she is the first lady, Electrical Engineer, in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi), and the M.Sc. degree in electrical power engineering from the University of Colorado, Denver, USA, in 2000.

She started her career in the Water and Electricity Department (WED). She had progressed over career ladders over numbers of leadership positions in Operational Companies of the Abu Dhabi Power Corporation (former Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA)). She was the Director of Asset Management Directorate (AMD) of Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC), Al Ain, UAE, and currently she is the Director of Electricity O&M Directorate (EOMD), AADC. She has diversified Technical, Financial, Management and Leadership experiences and certifications.

Eng. Al Dhaheri, is a Senior Member of IEEE. She was the Vice Chairman (PESC) (from 2009 to May 2012), Chairman (May 2012 to March 2015) of Power and Energy Engineering Society PES Chapter (UAE Chapter). She was the founder Member, Vice Chair of IEEE Women In Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group (from 2003 to 2007), and currently she is one of the architects and active members of IEEE WIE Affinity Group in UAE. She was the R8 IEEE PES Representative (Middle East and North Africa) until Sept, 2019. Eng. Al Dhaheri was awarded with a number of Excellence Awards locally and international for her successful achievements.
